Round Table interaction of H.E. Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis with Senior European industry leaders (and FEBI Launch event)
About the Event
On 23 August 2023, the new “Federation of European Businesses in India” (FEBI) was launched in presence of H.E. Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis at the European Commission, as well as His Excellency, Ugo Astuto, Ambassador of the EU to India and Bhutan.
The FEBI launch event in New Delhi offered a great opportunity for 60 present panellists as well as EU companies established in India to hear from VP Dombrovskis about the state of play of EU – India FTA negotiations. On the other hand, EU businesses shared their valuable insights on doing business in India, highlighting the great opportunities and some challenges.
Over 4500 EU companies directly support 1.5 million jobs and indirectly support 5 million jobs in India. Furthermore, the EU accounted for 11% of total investment in India in 2021. This is one of the main reasons to see FEBI as a strong and independent voice of EU Business in India created during this event.
